Ruediger John (Austrian visual artist)
Staging and presentation as inherent elements of works of art creating a cross-over between archetypical elements of theater performance art and in-situ installative art works * juxtaposing differing realities of perception by combining on-stage narration with interventions into real-life situations.

Ruediger John creates situative, installative, interventionistic, research and publication- oriented works and exhibitions and is known for his definitoric and practical works in Artistic Research and Systemic Art. Since 1997, he has also been working as a Critical Aesthetic Consultant. Teaching experience: 2000-03 Assistant Professor for installative, situative working, contextualization, cognitive aspects, mixed-media at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (State Academy of Fine Arts and Design Stuttgart). 2002-03 Professor in substitution for Kunst/Kunst- und Designwissenschaften - Skulptur/Raum (Art/Art and Design Sciences - Sculpture/Space) at Hochschule für Gestaltung, Technik und Wirtschaft Pforzheim (Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences). 2004/2005 Visiting Professor for Kunst und Wirtschaft - Transferkunst, Systemische Kunst, künstlerische Forschung (Art and Economy - Transfer Art, Systemic Art, Artistic Research) at Universität der Künste Berlin (University for the Arts Berlin). Other: 2003 Founder of Gesellschaft für kritische Ästhetik (Society for Critical Aesthetics). Ruediger John studied at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart and was also invited to Columbia University and NYU as an affiliate/guest.
